Sample of Military Letter for VA Loan
If you are an active military service member or a military veteran you have the option to apply for a military VA loan. The VA home loan program is the last remaining option for no money down home loans. Because of this there are thousands of families that are able to take advantage of the VA Home Loan benefits.
Because VA home loans are subsidized by the government, there are a lot of benefits to this type of loan. Some of these include not needing mortgage insurance, which can save you money every month, no down payment required, which can help you get a larger home and easier requirements to qualify, which makes it easier to qualify for a loan through the VA Loan program.
When you are looking at getting a military VA loan you need to keep in mind that the VA determines your eligibility for the loan. If you
meet all the requirements, they will issue you a certificate of eligibility. Your application for eligibility could include your original determination of home loan eligibility, request to replace lost certificate, request to restore benefits after payment has been made in full of a previous VA home loan, or issuance of a certificate that shows current outstanding loan balance for the purposes of refinancing a loan.
There are several ways that you can go about requesting an eligibility certificate. First of all, you can request this certificate directly through your lender. You can also request the certificate directly from the VA. If you are currently active duty in the military and have never been discharged from service, you will need to get a SOS from your commanding officer or other top personnel in your unit.
It is fairly easy to request a certificate of eligibility to get the process started of getting the loan that you need. Below is a sample letter that you could write to your lender to request a certificate.
