Unsecured Military Loans
There are two types of loans offered by banks and
lenders, secured and unsecured.
A secured loan is one that has some sort of security associated
with it: a car, home, stereo set etc. The positive aspect of a secured
loan is that its interest rate is often much lower than an unsecured
one.
Yet, the problem faced by many military personnel
is that they rarely have any sort of security; most of the time
they have to get unsecured military loans. The
military life is not an easy one. When you consider the training,
the moving around from base to base – or even country to country,
and the underlying purpose of the military: to fight and die; it
is not the sort of life everyone longs for.
In addition, while we proclaim our soldiers, sailors,
airmen, and marines to be our heroes; they are not exactly paid
like heroes. All of this combines to mean that when they want or
need a loan, it will probably be an unsecured one. One positive
aspect of the unsecured military loans is that they are offered
at a much lower interest
rate than a conventional bank or lender.
As the name implies, no collateral is needed. The
true key to getting good unsecured military
loans is having a very
good credit rating. For those military personnel who have good credit,
there are all sorts of discounts and offers. Now, this does not
mean having bad credit will doom someone to not getting a military
loan; it just means that it will be that much more difficult, and
the interest rate they get will be higher.
So, the first step for any serviceman or woman
is to check what is out there. Often times the armed forces having
the means of applying for a loan right on the base, or even just
via the Internet. Also, various companies are willing to give unsecured
military loans. To find them, a quick search online using a search
engine like Yahoo or Google will yield some results.
One very critical factor in dealing with such companies
is to thoroughly read any offer they make. Some predatory firms
will charge very high interest rates; so being cautious is the next
step toward getting a good loan.
One of the real great things about unsecured military
loans is that there are no stipulations regarding what the money
is used for. In the case of a mortgage or car loan, the money is
for a house or car purchase, respectively. Yet, with an unsecured
loan, the money is available for any purpose.
When you consider all that servicemen and women
go through in a tour of duty: fighting, being in harsh climates,
living in other countries etc. when they get back, they often want
to do something special for their family. Whether it is a vacation
to Disney, taking them on a cruise,
paying for the kid’s braces, or giving the family a good Christmas;
unsecured military loans can give them the added financial boost
they need, when they need it.
